Sublime Artwork Draws You In

When I saw a photo of these hand carved canoes sitting on the shoreline of the majestic Haida Gwaii I felt as if I was transported to another time and place entirely. It is hard to describe the feeling, except to say that every one of my senses was lit up in an instant. I could smell the sea water, hear the call of the seagulls overhead, feel the chill of the ocean air raising the hairs on my arms. The beat of the war drums was felt deep in my soul as if I was being called to this place. I have never been here, at least not in this lifetime. My soul and every fiber of my being knew this place as sure as every brush stroke. My hope is that through this piece your senses will be engaged as well.
